“I liked that they had a real service, one that people truly need, instead of lotions and potions,” she says, adding that Ameriplan offers the largest discounted fee-for-service program of its type in the country, with over one million members. “The service made sense to me; we can all use help reducing our healthcare costs in this country.”
Janie also liked that she needed just two things to do this business: Internet access and a phone. Everything felt so good to her that she decided to give it a try, and jumped right into her Ameriplan home business. “I finally found an opportunity that felt right to me, and it was going to allow me to help support our family financially while staying home with our children,” she says.
What the Lakeway, Texas mom discovered wasn’t just an opportunity to earn money from home, but a chance to help her family become a family again. Financial success came to her much sooner than she anticipated, and within six months Michael actually gave up his career to work on their home business with Janie.
For Michael, it wasn’t a tough decision. “We went from making $4,000 in 10 days to $400,000 in annual income in less than three years, he says. “We’re just at the beginning of what we will achieve.”

Life is much different for Janie, Michael, and their boys now that both parents are home. Janie and Michael take the boys to school in the morning and then work until noon. They take a break and go out for lunch together, returning later to work until the boys are home from school. After having a snack and working on homework together, Janie and Michael take the boys to karate and music lessons.
“They love having us both home,” says Janie. “In fact, they’re always asking us how old they have to be to start their own home based business. They understand that working for themselves is the best opportunity there is.”
